1. Clothing – You don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe. Get the essentials such as a winter coat, a couple pairs of jeans, shirts and sweaters. Get one or two pairs of shoes and a pair of tennis shoes. As you buy new clohtes make sure you remove an old item for every new item you bring in.
2. Backpacks – It’s a good idea to upgrade to a new backpack every school year. Children will grow out of their old ones and it is always a treat to get a new backpack to get them motivated to go back to school.
3. Specialized Calculators – Most pre-algebra classes require a TI83 calculator that costs up to $100. Look around for a used one and ones on E-Bay.
4. Binder And Folders – Depending on your child’s age, a binder of some type to hold schoolwork is essential.
5. Pencils, Pens, Crayons, Markers, Glue- basic school supplies that are essential every year.
6. Lunch Bag – To save on the environment it’s a good idea to get a little canvas bag to store your child’s lunches instead of disposable lunch bags. They come in many different varieties so your child can find one that they like in no time.

Just stick to this list and you will be fine. Don’t be fooled to buy the latest digital organizer or printer. Stick to the basics and add as the school year progresses.
