Your children usually don’t care and will stuff their backpack with papers out of order, old crayons, old projects and missed school notices. Now is a good time to start teaching them about keeping their backpack organized and clean before school starts. Here are some tips to get your started.

Use Zipper Bags To Store – Store pencils and mini rulers in ziploc bags. Secure them in an inside pocket and there you go. Tell your children to keep their pencils in ziploc bags and to always place them back in the backpack in the same spot.

Store Drinks On The Outside Of The Backpack – Place all types of liquids and drinks in an outside pocket to avoid any spilling on homework

Plan The Night Before – Place homework in binders or folders and place in the backpack the night before school. Don’t worry about packing and organizing the morning of school. If you do it the night before you can focus on more important tasks.

Clean Out Your Backpack Weekly – It’s a good idea to clean out the backpack with help from your children on a weekly basis.

These easy tips will get your backpack organized in no time. When the time comes, plan ahead and organize!
