Our new president, Obama, really wants moms to go back to school. His “Moms Return To School” Government Scholarship is a blessing for many moms who are stuck at a job they dislike and don’t have enough financial aid to change careers. This government grant will help moms and single moms with earning a degree and helping them get a job in the field they desire. With the economy the way it is, this is a perfect time to get some educational training so that when the economy turns around you will be one of the first applying for high-paying jobs and qualifying.

Click here for the $10,000 scholarship for moms

Besides increasing the Federal Pell Grant, Obama is givng tax benefits for moms. Apparently, the first $4000 of college education is free. Another great option for the scholarship grant is that it is applicable to online education and online colleges. Studying online is much easier and convenient for moms and is a preferred method by far.

So take this opportunity now and apply for the government scholarship. It is well worth it and the timing is perfect.

Summer is the perfect time to start thinking about back to school supplies. The kids are at camp or at the pool and wishing for school to never come back. The parent, on the other hand, is counting down the days till school is back in session. The week before school starts is usually crazy and hectic. The stores are busy with parents and kids hurrying to buy things. Before you become one of those parents, here is a list of essential school supplies your children need.

Clothing – You don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe. Get the essentials such as a winter coat, a couple pairs of jeans, shirts and sweaters. Get one or two pairs of shoes and a pair of tennis shoes. As you buy new clohtes make sure you remove an old item for every new item you bring in.

Backpacks – It’s a good idea to upgrade to a new backpack every school year. Children will grow out of their old ones and it is always a treat to get a new backpack to get them motivated to go back to school.

Specialized Calculators – Most pre-algebra classes require a TI83 calculator that costs up to $100. Look around for a used one and ones on E-Bay.

Binder And Folders – Depending on your child’s age, a binder of some type to hold schoolwork is essential.

Pencils, Pens, Crayons, Markers, Glue- basic school supplies that are essential every year.

Lunch Bag – To save on the environment it’s a good idea to get a little canvas bag to store your child’s lunches instead of disposable lunch bags. They come in many different varieties so your child can find one that they like in no time.

Just stick to this list and you will be fine. Don’t be fooled to buy the latest digital organizer or printer. Stick to the basics and add as the school year progresses.

It is never too late to organize your backpack for back-to-school. Your children usually don’t care and will stuff their backpack with papers out of order, old crayons, old projects and missed school notices. Now is a good time to start teaching them about keeping their backpack organized and clean before school starts. Here are some tips to get your started.

Use Zipper Bags To Store – Store pencils and mini rulers in ziploc bags. Secure them in an inside pocket and there you go. Tell your children to keep their pencils in ziploc bags and to always place them back in the backpack in the same spot.

Store Drinks On The Outside Of The Backpack – Place all types of liquids and drinks in an outside pocket to avoid any spilling on homework

Plan The Night Before – Place homework in binders or folders and place in the backpack the night before school. Don’t worry about packing and organizing the morning of school. If you do it the night before you can focus on more important tasks.

Clean Out Your Backpack Weekly – It’s a good idea to clean out the backpack with help from your children on a weekly basis.

With our new president, Obama, in office, new things are surfacing in the education field. He has been stating that he wants moms to go back to school ever since he enrolled in office. Moms who have a college degree definitely fare better in the work world. For those of moms who want to go back to school, this is a dream come true. And for single moms, it’s a blessing.

Obama Has Increased the Pell Grant
One of the first things Obama did in office is to increase the Pell Grant by $200 making the 2010-11 academic year funds $5550. This extra $200 will come in handy for moms who want to go back to school.

Another good thing is that the Pell Grant can be used for online school so for those moms who work all day and are busy in the evenings, using the internet to go to school is a wonderful option.

Obama Wants Single Moms To Go To School
More than ever, Obama is stressing to single moms to go back to school. With the option of using the Pell Grant for online education, it is easier than ever for single moms to earn their degree.

What Are The Benefits For Moms Going Back To School?
For those moms who are still unsure about going back to school there are definitely some benefits to going back.

- You can train for what’s in demand. This can put you ahead of the employment curve
- The time you take to earn your degree online will come in handy once your children are grown up
- You act as a role model to you kids by valuing education

Improve the life of your family and go back to school. You will not regret it.
