• Adjust Your Kid’s Sleep – I can guarantee that most kid’s are sleeping in and lavishing the late morning routine. Start changing your children’s sleep patterns a week or two before school actually starts. This will help them adjust quicker.
• School Supplies – Don’t wait until the last minute to grab the essentials. Stores now are getting their inventory for back to school so take advantage now.
• Set Up An Inbox For Papers – When school starts homework, notices and field trips will be coming home. Instead of letting those papers pile up, invest in an inbox for your children’s papers and one for parents. When your child comes home from shcool, your child will put notices and form for parents in your file and homework in their file.
• Organize Your After School Activities – Get your child’s input when deciding on after school activities. Get a master calendar and note all the activities so they won’t conflict.
• Get Your Checkups In Check – Schedule the routine teeth cleaning, eye appointment and haircut the last few weeks before school starts.
• Re-establish Routine – Get back to family dinners and a story before bedtime.

1. Use Zipper Bags To Store – Store pencils and mini rulers in ziploc bags. Secure them in an inside pocket and there you go. Tell your children to keep their pencils in ziploc bags and to always place them back in the backpack in the same spot.
2. Store Drinks On The Outside Of The Backpack – Place all types of liquids and drinks in an outside pocket to avoid any spilling on homework
3. Plan The Night Before – Place homework in binders or folders and place in the backpack the night before school. Don’t worry about packing and organizing the morning of school. If you do it the night before you can focus on more important tasks.
4. Clean Out Your Backpack Weekly – It’s a good idea to clean out the backpack with help from your children on a weekly basis.
